Kiran Majumdar-Shaw, the power behind Biocon is the richest first generation woman promoter in the country with a net worth of nearly Rs 2,000 crore. She owns 40% of her company Biocon, which made its debut on the Bombay Stock Exchange on April 7, 2004. Her company is working on the world's first oral insulin for diabetes patients.
