Gambling:
Gambling is a serious addiction for many people. you have heard of people becoming rich and famous by putting up industries, learning an art, doing some constructive business; but have you heard of anyone becoming rich and famous by gambling?? No. Why? Here are some insights into the hazards of gambling. Come out of this debilitating habit if you are a gambler. Amd if you are not, don't even think of it.
1. gambling makes you think that you can make easy money by short cuts. it diverts your thinking from a positive, constructive way of achieving success (by working, doing a useful business, etc.,) towards an easy, lazy and degenerative activity of gambling. So, you'll become lazy, mis-directed and lose your focus in life.
2. Gambling is very addictive. If you win, you would like to win more, therefore you continue gambling. If you lose, you hope to win the next time and to gamble continue. you just don't find an escape route. It draws you into its vicious cycle of win-lose or lose-lose syndrome. In any case, you will continue to lose. Getting into gambling is like falling into a bottomless pit. it is like a blind man trying to catch a non-existent black cat in a dark room! its a futile exercise.
3. Gambling is anti-national. Gambling, unlike a mnufacturing or a service industry, does not produce any product or service and make the country prosperous. It only transfers money from many to a few people. Money keeps circulating within people without getting used for progressive or nation-building activities.
4. Even if you win while gambling, you don't get any sense of achievement, because you haven't put in any hard work. Money got only from hard and/or constructive work will give you a sense of satisfaction. So, even if you make a little money by gambling, you carry the guilt feeling of doing it in a wrong and negative way.
5. No sensible nd respectable person would like to identify himself/ herself as a gambler's spouse or children. You will thus lose domestic and social credibility.
MORAL: Come out of this nasty habit, if you have developed one. A little money earned by hard and sincere work is more satisfying and rewarding than a few lakhs you get by gambling. Any way, you'll lose it in your next gambling session!
